Epidemic Sound vs AudioJungle: Subscription or Per-Project Music?
Choose Epidemic Sound for a continuing schedule of online videos and a channel-based clearing workflow. Choose AudioJungle when you want to buy a particular track for a defined production without maintaining a subscription. Your publishing frequency and distribution rights matter more than a catalog-size headline.
Epidemic Sound vs AudioJungle also involves two different kinds of administration. With Epidemic, you select an eligible plan, connect the right channels and publish during your subscription. With AudioJungle, you select an item and a music license for the project. A monetized YouTube upload, a downloaded product and a television commercial can require different checks.
Research checked October 28, 2026.
1. Subscription versus individual purchases
Epidemic sells ongoing access through subscription plans. Creator and Pro offer monthly and annual billing; your intended use determines the plan. AudioJungle belongs to Envato Market, where authors sell individual assets. Browsing its music category shows different prices for different tracks. Sources: Epidemic pricing, AudioJungle music.
Do not mistake AudioJungle's links to unlimited Envato Elements downloads for an AudioJungle subscription. Elements runs a separate service with separate terms. A purchase through AudioJungle uses the license you choose for that item. Source: Envato Elements license FAQ.
2. Cost for your actual publishing schedule
| Cost question | Epidemic Sound | AudioJungle |
|---|---|---|
| Unit you purchase | Subscription access for the paid term | Item license for an allowed project |
| Budget driver | Plan scope and billing period | Track, license tier and separate projects |
| Low-output workflow | Compare the paid period with your release dates | Price the specific soundtrack and rights |
| Frequent uploads | Compare a suitable subscription | Count required licenses across productions |
| Recurring commitment | Subscription renewals | No subscription required for item purchases |
Epidemic's Sweden-localized pricing on the research date lists Creator at 179 SEK/month or 1,308 SEK/year, Pro at 399 SEK/month or 2,028 SEK/year, and Pro Plus at 800 SEK/month or 4,788 SEK/year. Annual equivalents are 109, 169 and 399 SEK/month; annual plans charge the full year. Check your checkout currency and tax. AudioJungle has no single universal track price. 3. Music selection and search
AudioJungle lets you compare author listings, descriptions and included versions. That suits a buyer who wants one approved cue and can spend time checking its details. Audition the actual files your license covers; a pack of alternate lengths differs from isolated instrument stems. Source: AudioJungle music listings.
Epidemic organizes its service around discovering and using music within a continuing production workflow. Build the same shortlist on both services using one real scene: dialogue, a transition and a closing sequence. Listen under your voice track. Neither the price model nor the total catalog count proves that a cue will fit your edit.
4. Reusing the same track
AudioJungle's Music Standard license covers one application or project. The terms permit certain variations, including qualifying cutdowns, but a different allowed use needs another license. A brand's separate campaign is not covered merely because you used the same song before. Source: current Music Standard terms.
For a recurring series, list the episodes and intended reuse before buying. Check the license FAQ where the distinction between a series, a variation and a separate production affects your count. With Epidemic, check your plan's publishing permissions and keep the subscription active for new covered releases.
5. YouTube copyright claims
Epidemic uses safelisting to associate permitted channels or videos with your subscription. Set this up before publishing rather than treating payment as the last step. AudioJungle supplies license documentation, and some authors register tracks with Content ID. A matching notice can require a certificate-based dispute or contact with the author or rights-management partner. Sources: Epidemic safelisting, Envato's Content ID guide.
That difference matters for release-day operations. Leave time for a test upload and retain the right paperwork. Neither choice makes every possible false match or third-party claim impossible.
6. Client projects and handover
Epidemic directs client work and paid online advertising to the appropriate commercial offering, including Pro. Check eligibility before accepting a client brief. AudioJungle's Standard terms allow you to create a finished end product for a client and transfer that end product under the license. Sources: Epidemic plans, AudioJungle Standard license.
For either service, specify what the client receives: the finished film, permitted versions and the license record. A license to include music in a delivery does not grant the client ownership of the underlying song or a general library for future projects.
7. Broadcast, cinema and downloaded products
AudioJungle offers five music license tiers. Its comparison table distinguishes broadcast audience bands, reproduction allowances and theatrical film rights. Standard excludes broadcast and theatrical release and limits downloaded or physical copies to 10,000. Use the current tier table to match a distribution brief. Source: AudioJungle music license comparison.
Epidemic Pro's online use permissions should not be extended to TV, cinema or video on demand by assumption. Pro Plus adds specified OTT/VOD coverage; TV and radio require the relevant wider arrangement. A commercial-looking project and a broadcast project can need different coverage.
8. Performance rights and music ownership
AudioJungle carries both PRO and non-PRO music. For a PRO-affiliated track, synchronization permission does not itself waive public-performance obligations. Check the item and the broadcaster or venue arrangements. Source: Envato's PRO music guide.
Epidemic explains its rights model in its music licensing guide. Assess that model against your release requirements rather than using “royalty-free” as a promise of unrestricted distribution.
9. Cancellation and later publishing
Epidemic says covered videos and podcasts published during an active subscription remain cleared after cancellation. Publishing new work after access ends can trigger claims, even if you downloaded the track earlier. Source: cancellation guidance.
An AudioJungle purchase grants an ongoing license for the allowed application. It therefore suits a defined project whose release schedule may outlast your active production period. Keep the music files and certificate: Envato warns that marketplace items can disappear from later downloads. Source: purchasing and download guidance.
10. Editing tools and production overhead
Epidemic now lists tools including Adapt, Studio, AI voiceover and editor integrations. Check the selected plan's allowances if you expect to use them. AudioJungle's core purchase gives you the files and rights described on the item page. Factor in your own editing software and time rather than assigning a dollar value to tools you will not use. Choose the service that fits the job
Choose Epidemic Sound if you publish ongoing online content, can keep new releases within an active plan and value a central clearing workflow.
Choose AudioJungle if you have approved a specific cue, prefer an item purchase and can map that purchase to the correct project and distribution tier.

FAQs
Is AudioJungle the same as Envato Elements?
No. AudioJungle is an Envato Market marketplace for item purchases. Envato Elements uses subscription licensing with different terms.
Can I use one AudioJungle purchase in every new video?
Do not assume that. Music licenses cover a single application, subject to the current terms and FAQ on qualifying variations.
Will canceling Epidemic remove music from existing videos?
Its guidance says properly covered videos published during the active term remain cleared. New publishing after expiry needs fresh coverage.
Can I use either service for television advertising?
Choose the license for television distribution. AudioJungle has broadcast tiers; Epidemic's ordinary online plan permissions do not establish television rights.
